Am I eligible? What happens after I register?
  • All adult and child twins, born in, or currently living in Queensland are eligible to register.


  • Triplets and other multiples are also eligible to register.


  • Twins under 18 need a parent’s signature on the registration form.
  • You will be contacted whenever you may be an appropriate participant in a study.


  • Contact will only come from scientific researchers, whose research has been carefully reviewed and subsequently approved by an ethics committee.


  • Contact will always be by letter in the first instance.
What is it in for me? What about privacy?
  • The opportunity to participate in interesting and valuable scientific research and to be a part of scientific discoveries about health and disease.


  • An annual newsletter from the Registry.


  • A card from us on your birthday!
  • Membership of the registry is FREE
  • Be eligible for zygosity testing at a special reduced cost.
  • QTwin observes the National Privacy Principles (Privacy Act 1988) and the code of conduct set out in the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Research Involving Human.


  • We will not divulge your information to any party who are not associated with scientific research.


  • We will never sell your information to anyone.
  • Information you give us will be kept in secure, password protected storage.
