The Queensland Twin Registry is a population based Registry of identical and non-identical twins of all ages, born in or living in Queensland. It was established by
Professor Nick Martin, the head of the
Genetic Epidemiology Unit at the
Queensland Institute of Medical Research in Brisbane.
Professor Martin has worked in the field of twin research for over 25 years and has an outstanding international reputation. He has published over 600 research papers on many aspects of twin research and is the Editor of the International Journal
“TRHG”.
Twins are playing an important role in the scientific and medical research and can help extend scientific understanding of what makes us human, the things that keep us well and the things that make us sick.
Professor Martin and his team are passionate about the enormous value that twin research has for furthering scientific understanding of health and disease.
